Ariel Tavares is a funky multidisciplinary storyteller who flirts shamelessly with different mediums. Today she is a poet, photographer, collage maker, event curator, host, model, digital and visual artist. And as of late has recently learned to sew!
Ariel is preoccupied by the question of "What If?" a question that drives her artistic practice and sometimes her outfit choices. She is a marketing & branding professional by day & a creative consultant by night helping peoples across disciplines & industries bring their ideas to life. Born and raised from Providence, Rhode Island she was sustained by a strict diet of bodega pastelitos, Arizona Iced Teas, & pots of Cape Verdean dishes most handmade by a line of heavy-handed love-filled immigrant matriarchs who shaped her work ethic, love for music, and yellow porches. Ariel seeks to use art as a means of exploring magic and obtaining personal and collective liberation. She believes in the power of words, the power of people, the power of prayer, and the power of a lil sweet treat after a meal. Ariel hopes those who interact with her work are either moved, confused, or slightly amused. Preferably all three. If you need an eclectic storyteller on your team (with a great collection of jackets) look no further! |
